A Shot in the Dark
Brand new view for the paranormal romance market. We've got dragons, gryphons, harpies, dark fae, elves, and wyr kind. Love the world building, settings and unique take on NYC. The heroine, Pia, didn't draw me in as much as I'd like and her use of the phrase "You're not the boss of me" drove me a bit batty. I couldn't imagine a woman at 25 years old using that line. I also felt she came off as more of a damsel-in-distress type. Not my favorite.
The hero, Dragos, on the other hand is your standard alpha male and...a dragon. No spoilers, you know if from the beginning. And really how can anyone complain about dragons? :)
Overall, this struck me more as a 3.5, but I look forward to reading more of Harrison's Elder Race books.
